Yesterday we went to their new afternoon Praise service since it worked out better with the Wall festivities. We felt right at home when 10,000 Reasons popped up on the screen for us to sing. A big shout out to all the folks at FPC!!

The Universal Church
The 2 Sundays that we have been here we have gone to the American Church in Berlin. It's the Protestant English speaking church in town. I find it really nice to have a place where I'm not concentrating on the language and am able to just understand what is happening without extra effort. They have a Sunday School for the kids and various social and mission programs that we are starting to learn about. The kids tried out Sunday school last week and it turns out that Carter's teacher is the primary school counselor at their school! And Haley's teacher we think is affiliated with the Cub Scout group that Carter is joining. So it seems that the American community runs in a fairly tight circle. Believe it or not, that first week we met a guy who was born and raised in Helena, used to live in Missoula, then moved to New York City and is now living in Berlin. And the pastor's wife is from Whitehall, MT!

So happy you have found a faith community! We've visited the American Church in Paris on a number of occasions and felt right at home there.
